De 'Feed the world' a 'Heal the world'

      É umas das canções do século XX já com várias versões. E na letra diz que é de Natal.

     Resultando da articulação do (espírito de) Natal com causas sociais, aí está uma melodia ajustada a várias gerações.

   A versão original é do grupo Band Aid, uma comunhão de músicos britânicos e irlandeses organizada em 1984 pelo irlandês Bob Geldof (vocalista dos Boomtown Rats) e pelo escocês Midge Ure (guitarrista dos Ultravox). O objetivo era a obtenção de fundos destinados à causa da fome que vitimava a Etiópia. Assim foi lançado "Do They Know It's Christmas?"

    Cinco anos depois, surgiu nova versão com a designada 'Band Aid II', numa continuidade da ação solidária para combater nova onda de fome na Etiópia. Novas vozes deram-se a ouvir, tais como as Bananarama, Cathy Dennis, Jason Donovan, Kevin Godley, Glen Goldsmith, Kylie Minogue, The Pasadenas, Chris Rea, Cliff Richard, Lisa Stansfield, Technotronic e Wet Wet Wet, entre muitos outros:

      Mais quinze anos e aparece nova versão, com a 'Band Aid 20', intentando chamar a atenção para a região de Darfur. 2004 foi o ano para integrar músicos como Daniel Bedingfield, Justin Hawkins (The Darkness), Chris Martin (Coldplay), a par de veteranos como Bono (U2), George Michael e Paul McCartney.

    Uma nova letra, com outra roupagem melodiosa para um velho êxito musical; com vozes que - ora vindas do passado (Bono participou já na primeira versão) ora afirmadas no presente (One Direction, Rita Ora, Ellie Goulding, Seal, Sinéad O'Connor, entre outros) - dão novo grito ao "Feed the world". São estes os "Band Aid 30", desta feita voltados para uma epidemia mais atual: a do Ébola.

     Boas razões haveria se não houvesse nova versão para esta canção. Assim seria mais Natal.
